How are the turkeys raised?

Our free-range turkeys are raised outdoors. They get to live under the sunshine and forage for insects, bugs and greens. In conjunction with the outdoor diet they are also fed a Certified Organic feed. They are raised with no growth hormones, antibiotics, or synthetic feed. All this adds nutritional benefits to the meat, gives it great flavor and adds to the quality of the meat overall.

What kind of Turkeys do we raise?

We raise Broad-Breasted White Turkeys & Broad-Breasted Bronze Turkeys.

How much are the turkeys? And what do they weigh?

The turkeys generally range from 10 - 25 lbs and the cost is $8.25 per lb. BUT if you order by 10/1 your price will be $7.99/lb, which is the same as last year!

*Please note that sizes are approximate.  We do our best to give you the closest weight to the size class you request, but please understand that due to the unpredictable nature of farming that we cannot reserve or guarantee exact sizes.

Are the Turkey’s sold frozen? Why?

Yes, our turkeys are sold frozen and will require you to defrost.
Our turkeys are sold frozen for a couple of reasons…

• We raise our Turkeys outdoors, so raising them through the month of November can be a challenge with the cold weather. The temperatures can become very cold and not great conditions for raising them or even possible sickness.

• We are a small farm and can not butcher our own turkeys, so they are processed at a local USDA certified facility and the facility unfortunately does not process turkeys the few weeks before Thanksgiving; therefore we can NOT process turkeys fresh for the week of Thanksgiving.

• Our turkeys are processed around end of September / October time-frame and then we keep them frozen for you.

How can I pre-order a Turkey?

You can order one in 3 different easy ways:

2. Mail-in completed Pre-Order Form with a $40 check.
3. Print, fill out and bring the Pre-Order Form to us at any of farmers market locations with a $40 payment.

The $40 deposit secures you a turkey and is non-refundable. The remainder cost of the turkey is due when you pick it up your turkey.

Where can I pick-up my reserved turkey?

We have 3 Convenient Pick-up locations. They are as follows:

1 - Braintree Farmer Market, 1 JFK Memorial BLVD, Braintree MA - Saturday, Nov 22nd

2 - Plymouth Farmers Market, Plymouth, MA - Mon, Nov 24th

3 -The Farm, Rehoboth, MA - Saturday, Nov 22nd
