How are the turkeys raised?

Our pasture-raised turkeys are rotationally grazed on our chemical-free pastures. In conjunction with their pastured diet they are also fed a non-GMO project verified grain. They are raised with no growth hormones, antibiotics, or synthetic feed. They get to forage, eat the grassy greens along with the insects and bugs. This in turn adds nutritional benefits to the meat, gives it great flavor and adds to the quality of the meat overall.

What kind of Turkeys do we raise?

We raise Broad-Breasted White Turkeys & Broad-Breasted Bronze Turkeys.

How much are the turkeys? And what do they weigh?

The turkeys generally range from 14 - 25 lbs and the cost is $6.25 per lb.

*Please note that sizes are approximate. We do our best to give you the closest weight to the size class you request, but please understand that due to the unpredictable nature of farming that we cannot reserve or guarantee exact sizes.

Are the Turkey’s sold frozen? Why?

Yes, our turkeys are sold frozen and will require you to defrost.
Our turkeys are sold frozen for a couple of reasons…

We raise our Turkeys out on pasture, raising them through the month of November can be a challenge with the cold weather. The temperatures can become very cold and not great conditions for raising them or even possible sickness.
Turkeys are processed at a USDA certified facility and they do not process turkeys the two weeks before Thanksgiving.

Our turkeys are processed around the first week of November and they are keep frozen for you. They are flash frozen which means the turkeys are frozen quickly so they helps in not allowing the ice crystals to to form between the fibers of the meat. This helps keep all of the nutrients and juices inside the meat.

2. Mail-in completed pre-prder form with a $20 check.
3. Print, fill out and bring the Pre-Order Form to us at any of farmers market locations with a $20 payment.

The $20 deposit secures you a turkey and is non-refundable. The remainder cost of the turkey is due when you pick it up your turkey.
